The Care Academy is a partnership between all care providers in North Tyneside including the local authority, the NHS, social care providers, the voluntary sector and local schools and colleges.

Support and development in adult social care workforce ensures that professionals are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide compassionate, effective support tailored to the diverse needs of the people they care for.

Working for Carers

The Working for Carers project is a partnership between Newcastle Carers, North Tyneside Carers’ Centre and Carers Northumberland.

If you are caring for someone with an illness, disability, mental health problem, or addiction, and you’re not employed to do this, then you are an unpaid carer. The project provides friendly and specialised support for unpaid carers aged 16 + to find a job, maintain employment, advance in their careers, or return to work.

Working for Carers also supports carers in the workplace and enables them to access employment, education, training and volunteering roles, they also work together with employers to develop these opportunities for carers.

Winnovation Training

Winnovation are a leading Health, Social and Early years training provider that was founded in 2009 with the vision to support the ever growing Health & Social Care industry by providing the highest quality training possible with the help of the regions most talented trainers.

From service managers to Health Care Assistants to unemployed individuals, Winnovation aim to deliver the skills required by every employer and support the development of everyone that is interested in starting their training journey.

The team consists of operations, teaching and learning, quality, compliance, finance and business administration who are responsible for delivering a range of different courses available from Apprenticeships to Adult Education and also offer Pre-employment training .

TyneMet

Whether you have a clear career path in mind or are exploring the opportunities at TyneMet, their curriculum offers an outstanding selection of specialised courses designed to equip you with the skills and support needed to take the next step.

With each day bringing new challenges, you’ll help others achieve health, happiness, and independence. During your studies, you’ll gain knowledge on a variety of topics, including physiological disorders, anatomy and physiology, dementia care, and much more.

You’ll engage in a variety of placements across different career paths, providing practical experience to advance in this rewarding field. Additionally, you can further your education with TyneMet by pursuing a foundation degree in Health and Social Care, helping you achieve even greater success.

Employment and Skills

Employment and Skills provide a reliable high quality service which includes well trained and vocationally competent tutors and quality assured advisers working with young people and adults.

They consist of a number of key services and offer a range of personalised part-time courses in the health, social care, and education sectors.

Some of these courses include Get Into Care and if you are considering working in the care sector, this course will develop your knowledge and understanding of the various care settings and roles available, such as care work, personal assistants, supporting those with mental health needs, and domestic roles.

The Prince’s Trust

The Prince’s Trust help young people from disadvantaged communities and those facing the greatest adversity by supporting them to build the confidence and skills to live, learn and earn.

Their courses, resources and other support help people aged 11-30 to develop essential life skills, get ready for work and access job opportunities. They support young people to find work because having a job or running a business can lead to a more stable, fulfilling life.
